Variations for Phase I
- Easier - Use 3 of the 4-letter words - (blue).
- Harder - Use 3 of the 5-letter words - (green).
- Hardest - Use 3 of the 6-letter words - (red).
Variations for Phase II
- Increase minimum word length (e.g., minimum of 3-letter words,
4-letter words).
Other Variations
- Solitaire - Play just Phase II
- Choose a set of three words from the word strip
or pick your own words.
- Place the letters in the play area of the board.
- Start making words.
- Try again with same letters to see if you can
make different words.
- Try again and see what is the longest word you
can formulate with the available letters.

- Solitaire - Working with a child under 9
- Take all the letters from the board and let your
child put them back in the right spots
- Choose a set of words from the word strip,
scramble them in the work area, give hints as necessary and let your child try to decipher the
words.
- Choose multiple words from the word strip (or
choose your own), place them in the work area, and let your child use
those letters to formulate words.
